Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bunboshiho (The Four Treasures Of Writing) by Ryuryukyo Shinsai was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art Online auction at Christies in New York in September last year. The price achieved of USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,287.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ryuryukyo Shinsai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1820 in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 37,812.50 (€ 32,661.74).

Die Arbeit Bunboshiho (The Four Treasures Of Writing) von Ryuryukyo Shinsai wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.287,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ryuryukyo Shinsai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1820 im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.812,50 (€ 32.661,74).
