In September 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono, which included the work Edo Period (1615-1868) by Ryuryukyo Shinsai. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,753.30), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ryuryukyo Shinsai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1820 in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 37,812.50 (€ 32,661.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im September 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono durch, in der auch die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868) von Ryuryukyo Shinsai zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.187,50 (€ 2.753,30) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ryuryukyo Shinsai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1820 im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.812,50 (€ 32.661,74).
