Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Christies in London held the auction From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints, which included the work Dojoji by Ryuryukyo Shinsai. The price achieved of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,514.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ryuryukyo Shinsai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1820 in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 37,812.50 (€ 32,661.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dojoji von Ryuryukyo Shinsai zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.514,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ryuryukyo Shinsai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1820 im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.812,50 (€ 32.661,74).
