Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A charcoal brazier, teascoop (chashaku), teapot and cup, beside a branch of plum by Ryuryukyo Shinsai was sold in the From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints auction at Christies in London in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,400.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,651.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ryuryukyo Shinsai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1820 in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 37,812.50 (€ 32,661.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A charcoal brazier, teascoop (chashaku), teapot and cup, beside a branch of plum von Ryuryukyo Shinsai wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.400,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.651,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ryuryukyo Shinsai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), Circa 1820 im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.812,50 (€ 32.661,74).
