In May 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Roll Screen & Stomach by Ryoko Kato. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 75,000.00 (€ 6,174.49), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ryoko Kato - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work K.A.M.I.S.A.M.A & Utopia 0 Chome, which sold at auction in May 2008 for HKD 223,500.00 (€ 18,399.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Roll Screen & Stomach von Ryoko Kato zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 6.174,49) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ryoko Kato mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit K.A.M.I.S.A.M.A & Utopia 0 Chome beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für HKD 223.500,00 (€ 18.399,97) versteigert wurde.
