Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Russell Lee could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Crossing America: Photographs from the Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part I auction, the work Oklahoma Migrants, 1939 changed hands for USD 1,062.50 (€ 716.89) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Russell Lee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pie Town, New Mexico. in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 12,925.00 (€ 20,239.88).
