Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Homage to Andy Warhol: Self Portraits: one plate by Rupert Jasen Smith was sold in the House Sale auction at Christies in New York in September 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,582.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Rupert Jasen Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greta Garbo in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,013.23).
