In April 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Cakrawala Warna #8 (Colour Horizon #8) by Rudi Mantofani. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,225,000.00 (€ 144,593.85), 29% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rudi Mantofani - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bayangan Merah (Red Shadow), which sold at auction in October 2013 for HKD 3,640,000.00 (€ 345,417.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cakrawala Warna #8 (Colour Horizon #8) von Rudi Mantofani zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.225.000,00 (€ 144.593,85) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Rudi Mantofani mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bayangan Merah (Red Shadow) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für HKD 3.640.000,00 (€ 345.417,10) versteigert wurde.
