Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Death of Jane McCrea by Roy Lichtenstein. Here, the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 113,775.00 (€ 110,215.05). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Death of Jane McCrea von Roy Lichtenstein zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 100.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 113.775,00 (€ 110.215,05) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
