In September 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Trapped by Rowan Gillespie. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,962.10), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rowan Gillespie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work When Hope And History Rhyme in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 161,000.00 (€ 225,198.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im September 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trapped von Rowan Gillespie zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.962,10) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rowan Gillespie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit When Hope And History Rhyme im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 161.000,00 (€ 225.198,79).
