Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Galatea by Rowan Gillespie. The price achieved of GBP 10,687.50 (€ 11,784.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rowan Gillespie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work When Hope And History Rhyme in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 161,000.00 (€ 225,198.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Galatea von Rowan Gillespie zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.687,50 (€ 11.784,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rowan Gillespie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit When Hope And History Rhyme im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 161.000,00 (€ 225.198,79).
