Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Rowan Gillespie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2019. In the Irish Art auction, the work Failing Better Maquette Iii sold for GBP 68,750.00 (€ 80,729.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rowan Gillespie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work When Hope And History Rhyme, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 161,000.00 (€ 225,198.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rowan Gillespie erzielte im November 2019 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Failing Better Maquette Iii für GBP 68.750,00 (€ 80.729,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rowan Gillespie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit When Hope And History Rhyme beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 161.000,00 (€ 225.198,79) versteigert wurde.
