This artwork by Rowan Gillespie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2018. In the A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns auction, the work The Yearning (Misty Morning) sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,019.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rowan Gillespie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work When Hope And History Rhyme in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 161,000.00 (€ 225,198.79).

Burns wurde die Arbeit The Yearning (Misty Morning) für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.019,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rowan Gillespie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit When Hope And History Rhyme im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 161.000,00 (€ 225.198,79).
