This artwork by Rowan Gillespie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2016. In the Irish Art auction, the work Lazy Lady sold for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,639.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rowan Gillespie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work When Hope And History Rhyme in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 161,000.00 (€ 225,198.79).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rowan Gillespie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit When Hope And History Rhyme im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 161.000,00 (€ 225.198,79).
