Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Rong Shushi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Bird on Branch sold for HKD 20,000.00 (€ 2,153.30) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rong Shushi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lychee, which sold at auction in February this year for HKD 37,800.00 (€ 4,542.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rong Shushi erzielte im November 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Bird on Branch für HKD 20.000,00 (€ 2.153,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rong Shushi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lychee beobachtet, die im Februar diesen Jahres für HKD 37.800,00 (€ 4.542,28) versteigert wurde.
