Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Figures On A Beach by Roland Vivian Pitchforth. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100.00 – 200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 107.55 (€ 154.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Roland Vivian Pitchforth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Yorkshire Dales (illustrated); and Canal scene, Leeds in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,245.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures On A Beach von Roland Vivian Pitchforth zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 100,00 – 200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 107,55 (€ 154,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Roland Vivian Pitchforth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Yorkshire Dales (illustrated); and Canal scene, Leeds im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.245,96).
