Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Lake by Roland Vivian Pitchforth was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 239.00 (€ 338.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roland Vivian Pitchforth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Yorkshire Dales (illustrated); and Canal scene, Leeds, which sold at auction in May 2012 for GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,245.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Lake von Roland Vivian Pitchforth im Dezember 2004 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 239,00 (€ 338,25) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Roland Vivian Pitchforth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Yorkshire Dales (illustrated); and Canal scene, Leeds beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.245,96) versteigert wurde.
