Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Timber dwelling between Kiev and Moscow, 1852 by Roger Fenton was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2010. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,929.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roger Fenton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death' in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 157,000.00 (€ 100,847.89).
