Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Entre ustedes by Rodolfo Morales was auctioned at Christies in New York in February last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,136.85). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rodolfo Morales achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Procession in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 275,000.00 (€ 249,568.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Entre ustedes von Rodolfo Morales im Februar letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.136,85) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rodolfo Morales erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Procession im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 275.000,00 (€ 249.568,93).
