Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Poster Design: Capitol Hill, Washington by Robert Trenaman Back was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 168.00 (€ 248.99). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Trenaman Back achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Battle of Trafalgar: H.M.S. Victory, Temeraire and Neptune breaking the enemy line, 21st October 1805 in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,369.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Poster Design: Capitol Hill, Washington von Robert Trenaman Back im Juni 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 168,00 (€ 248,99) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Trenaman Back erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Battle of Trafalgar: H.M.S.
