Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Robert Trenaman Back could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS auction, the work Portrait of A Young Man, Bust Length changed hands for GBP 72.00 (€ 106.71) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Trenaman Back achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Battle of Trafalgar: H.M.S. Victory, Temeraire and Neptune breaking the enemy line, 21st October 1805 in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,369.93).
