Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Marine Sale, which included the work A Cutter Becalmed by Robert Strickland Thomas. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,251.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Strickland Thomas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The British fleet in action at Trafalgar, with Nelson's Victory heavily engaged; and After the close of the action in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 96,500.00 (€ 138,580.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Cutter Becalmed von Robert Strickland Thomas zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.251,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Strickland Thomas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The British fleet in action at Trafalgar, with Nelson's Victory heavily engaged; and After the close of the action im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 96.500,00 (€ 138.580,35).
