Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two magnificent First Rates: HMS Trafalgar and HMS Queen lying off the Royal Dockyard at Sheerness, a pair (2) by Robert Strickland Thomas was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 19,000.00 (€ 21,210.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Strickland Thomas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The British fleet in action at Trafalgar, with Nelson's Victory heavily engaged; and After the close of the action in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 96,500.00 (€ 138,580.35).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 19.000,00 (€ 21.210,41) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00.
