Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shipwreck On Ice by Robert Salmon was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2015. It changed hands for a price of USD 75,000.00 (€ 71,009.28) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Salmon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Royal Naval Vessels Off Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven, which sold at auction in June 2009 for USD 242,500.00 (€ 172,967.19).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 71.009,28) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Salmon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Royal Naval Vessels Off Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven beobachtet, die im Juni 2009 für USD 242.500,00 (€ 172.967,19) versteigert wurde.
