In April last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work Shipping in the Mersey, Liverpool beyond by Robert Salmon. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,650.00 (€ 9,122.35), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Salmon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Royal Naval Vessels Off Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven in June 2009 with an auction result of USD 242,500.00 (€ 172,967.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shipping in the Mersey, Liverpool beyond von Robert Salmon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.650,00 (€ 9.122,35) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Salmon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Royal Naval Vessels Off Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 242.500,00 (€ 172.967,19).
