Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dumbarton Castle by Robert Salmon was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in April 2021. The price achieved of GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,399.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Salmon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Royal Naval Vessels Off Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven in June 2009 with an auction result of USD 242,500.00 (€ 172,967.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dumbarton Castle von Robert Salmon wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.825,00 (€ 4.399,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Salmon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Royal Naval Vessels Off Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 242.500,00 (€ 172.967,19).
