Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Labyrinth Of The Minotaur by Robert Medley was sold in the 20th Century British & Irish Art auction at Sothebys in Olympia in June 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,629.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Robert Medley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red and green figuration in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 25,280.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Labyrinth Of The Minotaur von Robert Medley wurde im Juni 2007 in der Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.629,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Medley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red and green figuration im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.000,00 (€ 25.280,67).
