Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Robert Klippel was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,260.00 (€ 1,466.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Klippel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Opus 361 (Eighteen Miniature Constructions) in March 2006 with an auction result of AUD 507,800.00 (€ 299,727.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Robert Klippel im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.260,00 (€ 1.466,04) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Klippel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Opus 361 (Eighteen Miniature Constructions) im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 507.800,00 (€ 299.727,08).
