Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Number 1218 by Robert Klippel was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 13,200.00 (€ 6,806.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Klippel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Opus 361 (Eighteen Miniature Constructions) in March 2006 with an auction result of AUD 507,800.00 (€ 299,727.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Number 1218 von Robert Klippel wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 13.200,00 (€ 6.806,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Klippel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Opus 361 (Eighteen Miniature Constructions) im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 507.800,00 (€ 299.727,08).
