Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait of Annie, the artist's wife, holding a candle by Robert Jobling was auctioned at Christies in London in July last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,770.99). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Jobling - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sea Music, which sold at auction in June 2006 for GBP 10,200.00 (€ 14,759.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait of Annie, the artist's wife, holding a candle von Robert Jobling im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.770,99) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Jobling mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sea Music beobachtet, die im Juni 2006 für GBP 10.200,00 (€ 14.759,23) versteigert wurde.
