Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Looking across the lake on a calm day by Robert Jobling was auctioned at Christies in London in August 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 998.75 (€ 1,576.24). Admittedly, works by Robert Jobling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sea Music in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 14,759.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Looking across the lake on a calm day von Robert Jobling im August 2002 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 998,75 (€ 1.576,24) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Jobling auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sea Music im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 14.759,23).
