Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work At the Fountain - In Italy by Robert Herdman was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,479.18). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Herdman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The tired Pifferaro Abruzzese, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 14,100.00 (€ 22,437.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit At the Fountain - In Italy von Robert Herdman im November 2001 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.700,00 (€ 7.479,18) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Herdman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The tired Pifferaro Abruzzese beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 14.100,00 (€ 22.437,54) versteigert wurde.
