Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Connie Chung, 1985 by Robert Heinecken was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 500.00 (€ 429.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Heinecken achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cliché Vary/Lesbianism in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 118,914.60).
