Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Photographs, which included the work 'Recto/Verso' by Robert Heinecken. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,802.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Heinecken - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cliché Vary/Lesbianism, which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 149,000.00 (€ 118,914.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Recto/Verso' von Robert Heinecken zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.802,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Heinecken mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cliché Vary/Lesbianism beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für USD 149.000,00 (€ 118.914,60) versteigert wurde.
