In December 2017 Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Colors on Lavender Gray by Robert Arthur Goodnough. The result of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,495.43) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Arthur Goodnough achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Circle with Red in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 44,987.15).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Colors on Lavender Gray von Robert Arthur Goodnough zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.495,43) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Arthur Goodnough erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Circle with Red im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 44.987,15).
