Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Covered Car, Long Beach, California, 1955-1956 by Robert Frank was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in New York in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 40,320.00 (€ 38,152.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Frank achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trolley - New Orleans, 1955 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 663,750.00 (€ 504,062.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Covered Car, Long Beach, California, 1955-1956 von Robert Frank wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 40.320,00 (€ 38.152,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Frank erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trolley - New Orleans, 1955 im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 663.750,00 (€ 504.062,88).
