Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Merrimac River, New Hampshire by Robert Emmett Owen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,536.00 (€ 1,417.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Emmett Owen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Silvermine Mill, Connecticut in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 22,800.00 (€ 17,048.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Merrimac River, New Hampshire von Robert Emmett Owen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.536,00 (€ 1.417,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Emmett Owen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Silvermine Mill, Connecticut im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.800,00 (€ 17.048,00).
