Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work At Sunset, Plymouth, New Hampshire by Robert Emmett Owen was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,625.00 (€ 4,158.66). Admittedly, works by Robert Emmett Owen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Silvermine Mill, Connecticut in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 22,800.00 (€ 17,048.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit At Sunset, Plymouth, New Hampshire von Robert Emmett Owen im März 2010 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.625,00 (€ 4.158,66) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Emmett Owen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Silvermine Mill, Connecticut im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.800,00 (€ 17.048,00).
