Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Mutineers turning Lieut. Bligh and part of the Officers and Crew adrift from His majesty's Ship the Bounty by Robert Dodd was sold in the Exploration and Travel with The Polar Sale auction at Christies in London in September 2005. The price achieved of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,044.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Dodd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Greenland Whale Fishery in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 88,800.00 (€ 131,870.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Mutineers turning Lieut. Bligh and part of the Officers and Crew adrift from His majesty's Ship the Bounty von Robert Dodd wurde im September 2005 in der Auktion Exploration and Travel with The Polar Sale bei Christies in London versteigert.
