Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Greek Torso, Bust & Vase by Robert De Niro, Sr. was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in February 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,976.25 (€ 1,634.21). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert De Niro, Sr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in June 2014 with an auction result of USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,826.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Greek Torso, Bust & Vase von Robert De Niro, Sr. im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.976,25 (€ 1.634,21) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert De Niro, Sr. erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.826,88).
