Auction result misses estimated price range
In September last year a collector was able to acquire the work Lone Star by Robert Cottingham for USD 85,000.00 (€ 86,885.41). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War to Present at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Cottingham - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Barrera-Rosa'S, which sold at auction in May 2016 for USD 346,000.00 (€ 310,731.93).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Lone Star von Robert Cottingham für USD 85.000,00 (€ 86.885,41) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War to Present bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Cottingham mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Barrera-Rosa'S beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für USD 346.000,00 (€ 310.731,93) versteigert wurde.
