Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Ajax by Robert Cottingham. Here, the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 44,100.00 (€ 37,863.83). Admittedly, works by Robert Cottingham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Barrera-Rosa'S in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 346,000.00 (€ 310,731.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ajax von Robert Cottingham zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 44.100,00 (€ 37.863,83) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Cottingham auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Barrera-Rosa'S im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 346.000,00 (€ 310.731,93).
