Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2004 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work Design For A Chimney-Piece by Robert Adam. The price achieved of GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,578.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Robert Adam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Elevation of an organ for Sir Nathaniel Curzon, Bt. in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 14,176.64).
