This artwork by Robert Adam achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2017. In the Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian auction, the work Three Classical Landscapes sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,394.63) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Adam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elevation of an organ for Sir Nathaniel Curzon, Bt., which sold at auction in July 2015 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 14,176.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Robert Adam erzielte im März 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian wurde die Arbeit Three Classical Landscapes für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.394,63) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Adam mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elevation of an organ for Sir Nathaniel Curzon, Bt. beobachtet, die im Juli 2015 für GBP 10.000,00 (€ 14.176,64) versteigert wurde.
