Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled, 1998 by Rivane Neuenschwander was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 375.00 (€ 322.66). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rivane Neuenschwander achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work One Thousand and One Possible Nights [N. 51-55|AID420885] in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 75,000.00 (€ 68,219.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled, 1998 von Rivane Neuenschwander im September 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 375,00 (€ 322,66) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rivane Neuenschwander erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit One Thousand and One Possible Nights [N. 51-55|AID420885] im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.000,00 (€ 68.219,03).
