Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Rita Ackermann was auctioned at Phillips in London in July 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,250.74). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rita Ackermann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Water Lilies in Chalk V in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 115,500.00 (€ 99,380.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Rita Ackermann im Juli 2021 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.772,00 (€ 3.250,74) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rita Ackermann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Water Lilies in Chalk V im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 115.500,00 (€ 99.380,49).
