This artwork by Rita Ackermann achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Fire by Days Blues XIV sold for USD 88,200.00 (€ 79,509.60) - well above the upper estimate of USD 45,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rita Ackermann; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Water Lilies in Chalk V sold at auction in September 2018 with the realized price of USD 115,500.00 (€ 99,380.49).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Rita Ackermann; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Water Lilies in Chalk V im September 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 115.500,00 (€ 99.380,49).
