Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Day Sale, which included the work Untitled (Demonstration No. 20) by Rirkrit Tiravanija. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,508.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Rirkrit Tiravanija have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (THE DAYS OF THIS SOCIETY IS NUMBERED) in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 98,280.00 (€ 83,692.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Demonstration No. 20) von Rirkrit Tiravanija zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.508,85) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rirkrit Tiravanija auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (THE DAYS OF THIS SOCIETY IS NUMBERED) im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 98.280,00 (€ 83.692,41).
