A top price for Richmond Barthé - as previously expected
The work Stevedore by Richmond Barthé was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2021. The price achieved of USD 69,300.00 (€ 61,398.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Stevedore is the most expensive artwork by Richmond Barthé that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Stevedore von Richmond Barthé kam im November 2021 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 69.300,00 (€ 61.398,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Stevedore das teuerste Kunstwerk von Richmond Barthé, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
