Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Part II, which included the work A classical wooded landscape with ruins, a traveller on a path and figures resting by a river by Richard Wilson. The price achieved of GBP 17,562.50 (€ 19,589.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Wilson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Monk in January 2001 with an auction result of USD 391,000.00 (€ 420,068.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit A classical wooded landscape with ruins, a traveller on a path and figures resting by a river von Richard Wilson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.562,50 (€ 19.589,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Wilson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The White Monk im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 391.000,00 (€ 420.068,76).
